I Rank the Bridgertons Series

I reached my goal of finishing a series this year, so today I’m ranking the Bridgertons series and sharing some of my favorite quotes.

#1 An Offer From a Gentleman

“I think I have to kiss you,” he said, looking as if he couldn’t quite believe his own words. “It’s rather like breathing. One doesn’t have much choice in the matter.”

This one is my favorite in the series. I love the Cinderella vibes.

#2 The Duke and I

“They were both trapped, Simon realized. Trapped by their society’s conventions and expectations.”

I loved Simon and Daphne. I enjoyed this one minus the rape scene.

#3 The Viscount Who Loved Me

“Falling in love with one’s husband—who would have thought it could be such a disaster?”

I love books about sisters, and I liked Kate’s personality.

#4 When He was Wicked

The chemistry between Francesca and Michael.

#5 It’s in His Kiss

Hyacinth might be the only Bridgerton with a personality.

#6 Romancing Mister Bridgerton

“Was the world populated with blind men, or merely stupid ones?”

Poor Gregory has no personality. I rarely say this about books, but the Netflix adaptation is better.

#7 On the Way to the Wedding

Poor Gregory has no personality. I rarely say this about books, but the Netflix adaptation is better.

#8 To Sir Phillip, With Love

This might be the worst book in the series. The only thing that saved it from a 2 star review was the appearance of Eloise’s siblings half way through the book. There is NO chemistry between Eloise & Phillip. He just wants a mother for his children and a wife to have relations with. Their connection doesn’t go any deeper than that. Eloise deserved better. As social as she is, she’s going to be miserable living in the country far from her friends and family. This coupling just didn’t make sense. I also hate the way the author portrays all men as dumb and misogynistic.
